There’s another fantastic art installation by Marius Troy, and it’s called Elementi. Somehow, it shares the similar design from Polychrome, which is the use of underground. Here, the floor is sand and the light is the warm amber of earth-filtered sun. In the center of the space, a circular floor-to-ceiling fabric structure surrounds an oval of light, shaped like a moon or sun, seen from below, suspended, or perhaps drawn from above. Tracks cut across the sand in every direction. When the crowd appears, they stand where all the cloth converges upward into a single file, like the cloth radiating from the center of an inflating parachute. The artist describes Elementi as an installation that brings the elements into a vast interior space to calm the nervous system and invite reflection, exploration and connection, evoking stillness in both the environment and the people within it.
The installation called Soft places a luminous hemisphere inside a Beaux-Arts hall, resembling the Grand Palais, or its equivalent, over a rectangular pool of water. The fabric dome hangs from the ceiling and curves down, stopping just above the surface of the water, and the reflected light ripples into the pool and climbs the stone columns on either side. People sit at the edge of the pool, silhouettes, looking at the light, while others stand at a distance. Marius Troy describes Soft as a contemplation of softness in space and atmospheres, an exploration of what naturally happens when we occupy a space that is weightless and frictionless, metaphorically implying that while the hemisphere is large, it is not heavy. that shines rather than shines.

L’Abri Doux, French for soft shelter, comes next, showing fabric architecture that becomes landscape. In one view, a cylindrical column of vertical threads or thin cords falls from a circular opening in a vaulted ceiling, lit from within so that the threads glow, and the base of the column extends onto a sand floor, where two figures sit in silhouette. In another view, the space is vast, a fabric structure so large it looks like a building, with a rounded arched opening in the center through which amber light streams in, and dozens of figures sit or lie on the sand floor in small groups. The title names what the space does because it protects the community it houses, softly and gently.
Entre Deux, or between two, places a building-sized orb between the columns of the Panthéon in Paris, suspended at gate height, lit from within to glow salmon pink as the city sky behind fades into dusk. The crowd gathers below. No one passes, as everyone has stopped. In the second image of this series, the scale drops, where a stone arch on the banks of the Seine frames a small interior: fabric draped from the arch, a hanging lamp in the center, six or seven people sitting on cushioned seats at the base. The Seine is visible through the arch opening, suggesting a room without walls, a shelter without a building, a fire without fire.

What connects these fantastic art installations is the same ethos that Marium Troy tries to convey in every form his career has taken. The systems people live in, whether it’s rhythm, noise, or constant digital weather, do a kind of damage: disconnection from the body, from other people, from the simple fact that you’re in a room with other people and nowhere special. His fanciful installations are not proposals for public art programs, but he hopes they demonstrate a situation that already exists, expressed in the language of fabric, light, color and a little sand, gathering people together in speculative quiet retreats.
