The installation called Soft places a luminous hemisphere inside a Beaux-Arts hall, resembling the Grand Palais, or its equivalent, over a rectangular pool of water. The fabric dome hangs from the ceiling and curves down, stopping just above the surface of the water, and the reflected light ripples into the pool and climbs the stone columns on either side. People sit at the edge of the pool, silhouettes, looking at the light, while others stand at a distance. L’Abri Doux, French for soft shelter, comes next, showing fabric architecture that becomes landscape. In one view, a cylindrical column of vertical threads or thin cords falls from a circular opening in a vaulted ceiling, lit from within so that the threads glow, and the base of the column extends onto a sand floor, where two figures sit in silhouette. In another view, the space is vast, a fabric structure so large it looks like a building, with a rounded arched opening in the center through which amber light streams in, and dozens of figures sit or lie on the sand floor in small groups. The title names what the space does because it protects the community it houses, softly and gently.

Entre Deux, or between two, places a building-sized orb between the columns of the Panthéon in Paris, suspended at gate height, lit from within to glow salmon pink as the city sky behind fades into dusk. The crowd gathers below. No one passes, as everyone has stopped. In the second image of this series, the scale drops, where a stone arch on the banks of the Seine frames a small interior: fabric draped from the arch, a hanging lamp in the center, six or seven people sitting on cushioned seats at the base.
