Xiaomi never ceases to amaze. After conquering the global market with smartphones, wearables and tech accessories, the Chinese giant continues to expand its ecosystem of smart devices with increasingly sophisticated solutions.
The latest innovation in chronological order is the 10kg Mijia Washing Machine Top-Loading, a top-loading washing machine that combines compact design, smart technology and an undeniably aggressive price.
A product designed for those who want the best without sacrificing valuable space, which could redefine industrial standards in Europe as well.
Smart home in the laundry: technology and savings come first
The new Xiaomi Mijia Top Load 10 kg is a top load washing machine designed to guarantee a good balance between capacity, smart functions and low consumption. But the real surprise is under the hood: the device incorporates a four-way water flow system designed to improve the distribution of detergent between fabrics, increasing washing efficiency and reducing wear and tear on clothes.
There is also a full range of programs: the washing machine offers 10 washing modes, including a cycle dedicated to wool, and the amount of water can be intelligently adjusted by the washing machine based on the weight of the load. On the energy efficiency front, Xiaomi claims a reduction in water consumption of up to 26% and electricity consumption of up to 7% compared to previous generationsthanks to an adaptive system that calibrates each cycle to the actual load.

The model achieved a level 1 energy efficiency rating in China, the maximum required by local standards. A remarkable result for a machine in this price range. To complete the picture, the stainless steel basket and compact structure make this model also suitable for environments with limited space, such as medium-sized apartments or service bathrooms, where a traditional front-loading washing machine would struggle to find space.
Connected and in control: the HyperOS ecosystem makes the difference
What really sets this washing machine apart from the traditional competition is the deep integration with Xiaomi’s smart ecosystem. The device connects to the HyperOS Connect platform, which allows app control and interaction with other connected devices in the home, as well as support for voice commands through the XiaoAI assistant.
In practice, it is possible to start a wash cycle directly from your smartphone, monitor the situation in real time and even receive notifications when you are done. This vision of a connected and integrated home represents Xiaomi’s true ambition: to turn every home device into a smart hub of the home ecosystem.
The product is currently available in the Chinese market on the JD.com platform at a price of around 100 euros at the exchange rate. It remains to be seen if and when it will reach Europe, but considering that in 2025 Xiaomi has already distributed the Mijia Washer Dryer Pro 9 kg in Germany for 499 euros, the expectations for a European expansion of this new range are more than fundamental.
