Dior enter it Roadie shoes as a new direction in men’s footwear, designed by Jonathan Anderson. The model approaches classic footwear codes with a sharper, more playful edge, reshaping them through a hybrid structure that sits between a sneaker and a more formal shoe. Anderson wore the design during his first appearance for House, placing it at the center of his debut.
SNEAKERS
The sole is split into two parts, allowing it to flex with the foot and respond to movement in real time. This structure incorporates comfort into the design and serves a practical function in everyday use. The cannage pattern embedded in the base defines the shoe visually.
The design combines nubuck and a suede insert printed to look like mesh, creating contrast through material and surface. Visible hand stitching runs across the upper, with clean edges sharpening every line and exposing how the shoe is put together. Ateliers shape each element by hand, with seams defining both structure and finish.
The palette introduces brown, gray, dark green and beige options, each paired with a colored sole. The tones affect how the construction is read, with darker versions emphasizing the structure and lighter ones bringing out the contrast of the material. It builds a balance of vintage aesthetics and futuristic vision through the interplay of colors and materials. A black and gray derby version pushes the shoe in a more formal direction and reads closer to traditional footwear. A tone-on-tone Dior logo appears embroidered on the side. Thick laces anchor the structure, enhancing the shoe’s proportions and adding weight to the finished look.
