Studio OSKLO Translates Trousdale into Furniture


The concept of home can mean many different things – the concept of comfort as well. Home is a haven, a safe space for creativity, flourishing and family. Arya and Michael, its founders Studio OSKLOtreat their residence as such and inspire us to do the same. It was named after Trousdale Estates neighborhood of beverly hills, the Trousdale Collection embodies the familiar architectural silhouettes of 1960s streets outlined with mountain panoramas, city views filtered through mature pine trees, bathed in the golden California sun.

An ode to a specific place at a specific time, the Trousdale Collection is the culmination of the synergy between founders Michael and Arya and their most personal collection to date. It was developed within their own residence—the OSKLO Houseoriginally designed by George Varnum in collaboration with Benton & Parks—the pieces function as both functional objects and containers of lived experience. While this marks their third furniture line, it’s the first to fully center their domestic landscape as both inspiration and scene.

However immediate, each piece has clear historical connections. Studio OSKLO’s work consistently connects past and present, combining original designs with museum-quality vintage works. The slight slope of its top Bloom bedside tablefor example, it connects us to an era of careful craftsmanship, where materiality is at the center of creation, its whimsical floral reference subtly incorporated into its form and bronze hardware details.

THE De Gaulle chair creates sloping, organic lines that flow towards the ground as they wrap around the seat. Its rounded, mid-century French silhouette is further enhanced through custom piping and rendered in a richly textured mohair, balancing sculptural presence with softness.

THE Lady Bird console it features a generously curved top, three evenly spaced drawers and a rich satin finish in stained oak. The elongated form reads as architectural and approachable, allowing a certain amount of texture to shine through while maintaining a cohesive, grounded hue.

This SCAL recliner The daybed by Jean Prouvé features period-correct upholstery paired with its original 1950s metal frame, which has been restored to museum-quality condition. Master of Conservation, Studio OSKLO seamlessly integrates exquisitely restored pieces into contemporary interiors as anchors of the design range.

Here, the Hillcrest Dining Room matched with eight matches Dining room chairscreating an impressive surface for elegant gatherings. The table’s monumental presence rests on fluted walnut pedestal legs, while the chairs reinterpret traditional French forms with shortened arms and extended backs, upholstered in luxurious Italian cotton velvet. Together, they create a setting that feels equally suited to intimate dinner parties or more theatrical gathering moments.

Last, but certainly not least, these twins Monaco bar stool continue the celebration of the organic form, even at the last call. Rounded, wool seats sit atop free-form oak bases, evoking soft, slightly whimsical silhouettes while maintaining structural clarity.

Far from an exhaustive list, the rest of the collection’s pieces range from playful to monumental – and always grounded – echoing the studio’s dialogue between material richness and sculptural intent. The pair continues to push the boundaries of materiality and construction.

“When Arya and I met, we started working together almost immediately. Our 7-year relationship coincided with the beginning of OSKLO, when we were both working on separate property design projects and each excelled in different areas than the other,” says Michael. “Together, we immediately felt like we made a more formidable team,” Arya shares. “And of course who doesn’t want to spend every moment together when we first meet?”
