PUMA continues to expand it Speedcat line. After the OG, Wedge and Ballet, the brand presents the Speedcat Mule. The silhouette transforms into slip-on form, replacing laces with elastic straps while maintaining a low profile and motorsport DNA. Early iterations reach deep black and dark brown.

The Speedcat dates back to 1999, when PUMA introduced it as a racing shoe developed for motorsport. The design focused on a low-to-the-ground shape suitable for riding, with a slim sole and streamlined upper that allowed for better pedal feel. Early versions were closely associated with Formula 1, where the footwear required flexibility and grip without bulk. PUMA later adapted the design for a wider release, removing the technical racing requirements while retaining the defining proportions and structure.
The current Speedcat range follows the 2024 reintroduction, with the OG, Wedge and Ballet coming in 2025. Speedcat AND refers to today’s release of the original design from 1999. It retains the low-cut construction, thin outsole, suede upper and PUMA Formstrip associated with the first model. This version acts as the benchmark within the current range.
THE Speedcat Wedge based on an archival PUMA design, introduced in 2025 as part of the Speedcat Lux pack. It uses the Speedcat upper with a hidden wedge heel and velcro fastening, increasing the height and changing the proportions of the silhouette while maintaining the same base construction.
THE Ballet Speedcat shifts the design to a different format. It adapts the silhouette to a ballerina-influenced slip-on construction, using elastic straps and a modified upper, while retaining the low-profile foundation associated with the Speedcat.
With the Speedcat Mule, PUMA adds another variation to the line. The design expands the silhouette into a more casual form while remaining consistent with the original design language.
