The twin steel pavilions reinterpret the gabled roofed viewing platforms
Located in Xiangshan, Ningbo, ChinaTwin Pavilions replaces an underutilized one projection deck with two steel structures overlooking the sea. The project, designed by the collaborative team between Atelier LuxNox and Found Projects, reinterprets the original pediment-roof are formed as two monophonic volumes arranged perpendicularly to each other. Concrete The walls under the structures define the circulation and form a semi-enclosed courtyard overlooking the coastline. The two of them booths they share a common structural system and material palette, while developing distinct identities.

Corten steel and concrete define the materiality of the Twin Pavilions
The pavilion closer to the mountain rises vertically with a compact footprint, while the pavilion facing the sea runs parallel to the shore with a lower and more elongated form. Both volumes are clad with Corten grating of varying density and thickness, allowing daylight to produce varying impressions of transparency and solidity on the facades. From the foothills, the two structures, designed by Artist’s workshop LuxNox and Studio Found Projects form an asymmetrical but balanced composition within the landscape. Through differences in scale and proportions, they organize a sequence of movement, framed views and moments of pause, turning the experience of looking towards the sea into a continuous spatial sequence.
