Simplicity is often deceptive – seemingly simple (even easy) from the outside, but incredibly difficult to get right. Working with only one material—powder-coated steel—and only two applications—sheet and tube—non-conforming French furniture maker Tiptoe has developed the multifaceted PANORAMA collection. The outdoor line now includes a lounger, a bench, a low table and a stool.
With the full range—plus the pre-existing outdoor table and chair—Tiptoe applies a consistent structural logic to six products, highlighting its industrial expertise through precision cutting, folding and shaped metal. These elegantly light yet durable armatures may look effortless, but they are the result of rigorous refinement: calibrating proportions, solving ergonomic dimensions and taking full advantage of the inherent properties of the material. The finishing touch? Five new colors: Soleil Yellow, Brick Red, Graphite Black, Forest Green and Chalky Grey.
These ‘spring’ tones – exuberant yet measured – are carefully coordinated with a range of natural settings, complementing the hues and textures of emerging flowerbeds, shaggy wetland grasses, pebbly shores and lengthening sunsets. The pieces blend while subtly standing out, achieving a quiet visual balance. Light and easily repositionable, they offer a high degree of flexibility.
PANORAMA furniture can be arranged in almost endless configurations. The bench supports moments of rest while encouraging social interaction, while the stool works equally well as a side table or stand-alone seat. Anchoring the collection, the outdoor table is now available in 90×90, 130×80 and 160×80 cm formats. Here, the defining curvature of the system is most fully expressed – it stands for a draped tablecloth and seamlessly integrates into the form of the object.
In terms of sustainability, the designs are highly durable and weather resistant, ensuring longevity. Their restrained, universal language also resists the pull of passing trends. The steel itself—at least in Europe, where all Tiptoe products are manufactured—is now made up of up to 80% recycled content.
