CASETiFY and Bandai have announced a new Tamagotchi partnership marking nearly 30 years since the original handheld device was launched digital petwith the collection launching globally today, May 29, 2026. The capsule combines the brand’s technical accessories with retro Tamagotchi toy images phone cases, charms, straps, headphone cases, luggage and a limited edition Tamagotchi device with a custom CASETiFY shell design.
The collection leans heavily on late 1990s nostalgia, reviving the pixelated interfaces, bright color palettes and character graphics that made Tamagotchi a global phenomenon after its 1996 debut in Japan. In addition to customizable iPhone cases and accessories, one of the centerpieces of the collaboration is the CASETiFY Travel Tamagotchi luggage line, customizable with Tamagotchi characters and retro typography.

The tamagotchi is making a comeback as a collector’s item
CASETiFY is also releasing an exclusive working Tamagotchi device as part of the collaboration, designed with a branded shell meant to blur the line between collectible and usable tech accessory. Additional products include plush headphone cases with vinyl character faces, detachable charms, lanyards and a new line of Tamagotchi Chase trading cards released under the recently launched CASETiFY trading card platform.
The collaboration comes amid a broader resurgence of Y2K-era products and characters across consumer fashion and tech, as brands increasingly mine millennial nostalgia through limited-edition accessories and collectibles. Japanese game maker Bandai’s Tamagotchi has enjoyed renewed popularity in recent years through reissues, anniversary editions, and collaborations aimed at consumers who grew up with the original devices in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
To coincide with the launch, CASETiFY will host Tamagotchi-themed retail activations at select stores, including Tokyo’s Shibuya PARCO location and the brand’s Dosan flagship in Seoul, featuring immersive installations and limited in-store exclusives.
