Studiowatt extends the interior spaces of cafes into the natural landscape
Studiowatt’s Tri-Oz Café transforms a compact 97 sq m commercial unit. in a calm and tactile cafe submerged environment of Thailand greenery. The work is shaped by an interest in tranquility, material warmth and a close relationship with nature. Large glazed openings frame the surrounding greenery and allow daylight to penetrate deep inside interior. The atmosphere subtly changes throughout the day, while the boundary between indoors and outdoors remains intentionally soft. The spatial organization is deliberately simple. A long communal table forms the center of the room, accompanied by built-in dining seating along the perimeter. The furniture is conceived as part of the architecture itself, allowing the interior to be read as a continuous environment rather than an arrangement of separate objects.

A palette of natural materials and subtle tones define Tri-Oz Café
Materiality plays an essential role in the project, designed by interior design practice Studiowatt. Handmade terracotta tiles introduce warmth and subtle irregularities, while solid oak and oak veneer provide tactile surfaces that will continue to gain character over time. The beige painted plaster and white porcelain floor create a subdued backdrop that allows light textures and materials to become more prominent. Many pieces of furniture borrow the language of outdoor furniture. Their simple profiles and honest material expression enhance the feeling of being close to the landscape, despite the fact that they are completely indoors. The cafe accommodates different activity rates throughout the day, gathering around a communal table, working individually by a window or simply sitting quietly in the changing light and view of the greenery.
