SONGZIO presents the Spring Summer 2027 collection, fearlesslyas a study of fearlessness held within the body. The title alludes to a quiet form of courage, one that does not rely on display. The collection brings that inner determination through men’s and women’s looks that suggest characters from another era. These figures seem to bear signs from the past, moving forward with warning, certainty and restraint.
The collection draws from historical Korean archetypes and places them in a contemporary context. SONGZIO uses this resource to examine protection, freedom, strength and vulnerability through cut, volume and surface. The clothes hold the body, shield it and expose it in a measured way, giving the season a tense visual language.
SONGZIO twists and turns patterns, creating movement through cutting. Asymmetric draping gives jackets, panels and skirts a sense of movement. A deep slit neckline opens up the body, overlapping panels fall along the frame and cut-out construction alters expected tailoring lines.
Armor-like layers add another dimension. SONGZIO builds these shapes with body-contouring pleats, layered constructions and articulated contours. Front jackets fall straight and close through overlapping inner and outer panels. The git, a removable collar element from the hanbok, returns as a modern detail. The protrusions on the back of the jackets introduce beauty through distortion, giving the intimate tailoring an unsettled burden.
Shell and cocoon shapes expand around the body through raglan dolman construction, allowing the garments to inflate and deflate. Cropped proportions of the top meet asymmetrically draped skirts, layered trousers and generous bottom shapes.
Natural habotai silk, wool linen, cotton linen mesh and organza appear with metallic surfaces, punk leaning tweed, glossy vinyl, translucent layers and light paper skins. Some leather surfaces appear wrinkled and crushed. Frayed arm edges, distressed seams, hems and cut openings suggest garments that have traveled through time. A palette of dramatic black and ivory dominates the collection, with painterly touches of sage, citrus, berry and ink adding bold moments of colour.
Scarves move around the body with a softer line. A repeat neckline uses ribbons that run through the belt loops, crossing the body and adding a quieter form of tension. Asymmetrical derby shoes with oversized soles and chunky patinated leather boot soles filled the figures with weight and direction.
With IMPAVIDE, SONGZIO focuses on resilience and the unknown. The Spring Summer 2027 season transforms historical reference, warped fit, protective layers and distressed surfaces into a vision of forms that confront time and space without retreat.
