Audi brings together road performance and motorsport history at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where the near production Nuvolari The prototype takes on the 1.86km event climb. Nine-time Le Mans winner Tom Christensen drives the supercar around the grounds Goodwood Houseshowcasing technology developed through Audi’s work on racing and high-performance road cars.
The Nuvolari is the fastest and most powerful production vehicle Audi has ever built. It also introduces the brand’s new design philosophy and combines a high-performance hybrid powertrain with a new quattro drivetrain, active aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics systems, energy management and advanced brake tuning.
“What’s impressive about the Nuvolari is how all the systems work together, from the new quattro drivetrain and vehicle dynamics to the aerodynamics and braking system.” says Kristensen. Audi has taken these technologies from motorsport and developed them for road use.
The appearance follows Nuvolari’s UK debut in London. Audi plans to produce 499 examples, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027.
Goodwood also hosts the first public drive of the Auto Union Lucca, a recreated racing sedan linked to Audi’s record-breaking history in the 1930s. The original Rennlimousine belonged to the Silver Arrows family and achieved a flying-start mile record in 1935, reaching a calculated average speed of 320,267 km/h.
Audi rebuilt the Lucca using historical photos and technical documentation before unveiling it in the Italian city of Lucca in May. Its appearance at Goodwood places the car alongside other models from the Audi Tradition collection, including vehicles from the brand’s Le Mans and rally programs, as well as the Auto Union Type C and Type D Grand Prix cars.
The new Audi RS 5 is also on display at the Goodwood Circuit from 9 to 12 July. Visitors can experience the plug-in hybrid performance model through testing, while the car sits alongside the Avant RS2 and Audi RS 4 Avant.
Audi is partnering with the Goodwood Festival of Speed from 2025.
