Design inspiration: Ideas for his and hers home
Both customers had separate home office ideas. The bohemian office decor appealed to her, while the industrial office decor made him feel at home. Fortunately, a combination of industrial and boho office decor was not only possible but also practical and harmonious.
The clients wanted organic features such as wood and wool to match the rest of their interior. And when it came to his and her desk options, ideas turned to solid countertops. It was mostly to make some features very different while keeping others similar. Floor-to-ceiling open shelving, for example, was one of many possibilities for cohesively linking discrete designs.
Basic concepts: Finding the right designer
From the beginning the couple fell in love Wanda P.portfolio and creative ideas, and chose her to complete their design. He suggested initial concepts as moodboards, refined them as the process continued, and eventually created 3D renderings of the office spaces.

Ultimate practicality meets modern masculine in this industrial home office decor design. With high ceilings in mind, Wanda suggested tall shelves, escalators and loft space. These fixtures now match the wooden floor tiles, accent table and desk.
The net result has everything the customer needs to be productive and feel good. Indeed, this industrial home office excels in both masculine lines and convenience. Breaks are vital to maintaining work efficiency and this provision is a great motivator. A separate coffee station, complete with floating shelves and a bespoke pantry, is just off. The short walk to and from the coffee machine offers a short break to clear one’s mind.
The client spends much of their time delivering online presentations. Good lighting was therefore vital, maximizing natural light even more. The clean walls and woven carpet reflect and bounce more light into the space, perfect for reading. And, when necessary, recessed loft lights allow for late-night work.
Attention to detail
Exposed ceiling beams bring balance and visual texture to both home offices. In addition, the pendants above draw the eye to the wooden details. The combination of trussed ceiling and sliding glass doors blurs the lines between the offices and the living room.
