Miracle the first full trailer for Avengers: Doomsdaypreviewing the heroes, rivalries and threats from multiple universes ahead of its release on December 18th. Previous previews have offered brief glimpses of the project. The new trailer provides a much broader look at the story and brings together characters from various branches of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It also provides its first substantial material Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doomthe central figure behind the film’s title.
Thor appears to have an important role as one of the remaining original Avengers. The trailer places him inside the new Avengers tower, where Bucky Barnes, Ant-Man and Captain America meet it Fantastic Four. This meeting connects established MCU figures with the newly introduced team and suggests that Thor will help bring the disparate teams together.
Other scenes reveal conflicts in the expanding cast. Surinow Black Pantherfaces Namor after their previous conflict. Initial movement battles Shang-Chi in a moment that raises questions about alliances and the larger situation surrounding the characters. The trailer gives no explanation for the battle, leaving their positions within the conflict unclear.
Loki also returns under intense pressure. It remains connected to the Time Variation Authority and continues to keep the timelines together. His appearance suggests that the unstable multiverse will play an important role in the events of Doomsday.
The Helena she enters a match against someone who looks just like her. Then the trailer is revealed Magic under the guise, adding another layer of uncertainty to the growing standoff. The scene introduces deception into a film already filled with characters from separate groups and realities.
The last moments bring back Steve Rogers. Thor describes his arrival as a “miracle” before the trailer shows a bearded Steve ready for battle. The video leaves his return unexplained and raises the possibility that he will enter Battleworld. His appearance gives the trailer one of its biggest surprises and brings another original Avenger back into the developing conflict.
Spider-Man and Doctor Strange they remain absent from the trailer despite the number of heroes featured. Marvel has not given any indication as to whether any character will be in the film or appear elsewhere in the developing multiverse story.
Doctor Doom is the main threat of the trailer. Robert Downey Jr. appears several times behind his character’s metal mask and cloak. Doom confronts Thor and leaves him visibly shaken, establishing the scale of his power. Their meeting places Doom on top of the many feuds already dividing the assembled heroes. A new poster also puts the villain at the center of the film’s visual campaign.
The trailer leaves many questions unanswered. Marvel has yet to explain how the different groups of characters will come together or why certain heroes appear to be fighting each other. The film may also look into whether Doctor Doom shares a relationship Tony Starkthe role played by Downey in the previous MCU films.
