KENZO Spring Summer 2027 returns to the Place des Victoires, the Parisian square where Kenzo Takada opened its flagship in 1976. Good luck he uses the site as a point of memory and direction, building the collection around the house’s past, Parisian codes and his own sharp eye for construction. Our photographer Sohom Das captures exclusive moments and details about DSCENE magazine.
The collection moves through sportswear, romance, tailoring and archival references. Images of Kenzo Takada and 1970s figures such as Miles Davis show pointed collars, layered silhouettes and dandy tailoring. Ivy League codes appear through varsity jackets, rugby shirts, college ribbons and house insignia. Nigo transforms familiar pieces into new forms, turning a knitted rugby shirt into a floor-length dress and adding sequin detailing to jackets and shoes.

Ribbons give the season its most romantic note. Nigo looks at the thrift stores around the Place des Victoires and Takada’s collection of ribbons. Custom ribbons cover jackets and skirts, decorate collars and cuffs, form bows and form leaves. One dress uses colorful knitted bands, hand-stitched in stripes and stripes.

Bonsai motifs, drawn from one of Takada’s poems, appear as prints and embroidery. Florals move from subtle archival renderings to blurred painterly motifs, while other prints use an original 1976 illustration of Kenzo’s launch party.

Japanese denim appears through stitching and ribbon detailing, joined by velvet denim, houndstooth, floral coupe, textured knits, organza, doll dresses, workwear shapes and striped drapes.
