Wooyoungmi Spring Summer 2027 begins with heung, a Korean word often translated as joy, although its meaning reaches further. It suggests rhythm, spontaneity and choosing to dress in a better mood. Madame W builds the collection around this feeling, asking what joy might look like when translated into clothes. Light, color and signs of wear guide the season. Fabrics look faded or sun-drenched, giving the clothes a sense of life already. A checkered wool vest in navy and butter yellow appears over a white shirt, while a soft cream skirt bears an embroidered pendant inspired by the gwaebul norigae, a protective amulet.
The design conveys much of the energy of the collection. Stripes appear on outerwear, shirts and bags, drawing from global traditions in clothing. Checks return through suits and lounges, while crumpled painted leaves create a feather like lightness. Marabou adds texture and a more playful note.
Korean artistic references shape the visuals and palette. Minhwa cranes, symbols of freedom, appear with natural signs of longevity from sipjansaengdo folk painting. Lotus flowers bring another symbol of purity. These patterns appear on shirts and embroidered jeans with a bright, immediate quality.
