Color Spring Summer 2027, titled Aliensit begins with the idea that people often live alongside those they may never fully understand. The collection brings the word ‘alien’ closer to everyday life, turning it away from science fiction and towards neighbours, family, lovers and self. Photographer Sohom Das captured behind-the-scenes moments, capturing details exclusively for DSCENE magazine.
The season uses this idea to examine the distance between people. Kolor examines the desire to understand others and the limits that remain even in close relationships. Each person carries thoughts, memories and ways of seeing that others cannot fully reach. This void becomes the emotional terrain of the collection.
From Earth, nationality, race, culture and language can seem like great divisions. From across the planet, these differences may seem smaller. Kolor uses this fictional perspective to question how people create distance through identity, place, and language.
The designer’s own background brings a personal angle to the subject. Born in Japan and trained in Belgium, he brings more than one cultural backdrop to the thinking of the collection. For Spring Summer 2027, Kolor also collaborated with the Taiwanese band MONG TONG in music, an artist based in Greece Klaus Schmidt in textiles and painter born in Japan Young Bo in graphics.
