Belgrade among the first stops for Charli xcx’s new era: ‘Music, Fashion, Film’ album unveiled with exclusive listening party. Charli xcx’s highly anticipated new album ‘Music, Fashion, Film’, one of the most anticipated pop releases of the year, was officially released today via Atlantic/Warner Music (Mascom). To mark the album’s arrival, Serbian fans had the opportunity to be among the first to hear the full record at an exclusive listening event at Belgrade.

Officially released on July 24 via Atlantic/Warner Music (Mascom), ‘Music, Fashion, Film’ marks a bold new creative chapter for one of modern pop’s most influential artists. The album combines music, fashion and visual culture, cementing Charli xcx’s position as an artist who constantly pushes the boundaries of contemporary pop expression.

The audience gathered dedicated fans who were among the first in the area to experience the full new release and discover the fresh direction Charli is taking in her artistic evolution.

A creative turning point

“Music, Fashion, Film” represents a change after the worldwide success of her previous album “Brat”. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Charli xcx talked about the creative process leading up to the new record. “I was really, really ready to take a break and stop making music. I felt creatively tired and uninspired to write. And then all of a sudden the inspiration came,” she explained.

The album contains 11 tracks: ‘Rock Music’, ‘SS26’, ‘Card Declined’, ‘Camera’, ‘2007’, ‘I’m Afraid’, ‘Yeah’, ‘Wink Wink’, ‘Persona’, ‘Magic Metal Montana’ and ‘No One Lasts Forever’.

Visual storytelling in three disciplines

The album cover has drawn attention for the symbolic connection of the three disciplines in its title. The artwork features three legendary figures, John Cale representing music, Marc Jacobs as a fashion icon, and Martin Scorsese which symbolizes cinema. One of the highlights of the campaign is the music video for “Camera”, featuring the legendary French actor Vincent Cassel. The album also features a collaboration with a famous Canadian director and screenwriter David Cronenbergwho appears on the final track ‘No One Lasts Forever’.

Critics have already recognized Charli xcx’s new artistic direction. The Guardian describes the album as a “meta-masterpiece about the instability of identity”, noting that she successfully pivots after the “Brat” era, exploring a guitar-based sound while maintaining her distinctive vocal signature.

Tour dates and live shows

Charli xcx will support “Music, Fashion, Film” with an extensive tour that will include shows at Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Reading and Leeds, as well as headlining venues such as Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. “I want to live my life exactly the way I want, because I don’t get the chance to live it again,” Charli said, expressing her current creative approach.
