One of the most annoying problems for those of us chasing a clutter-free aesthetic in the modern world is the mess of charging cables. We all have them—criss-crossing our otherwise perfect living rooms and somehow getting in the way more each day than we previously thought. With wireless, we can completely remove this pain point. based in San Francisco Gantry has long changed the lighting game, offering 3D printed, considered lighting for the home, office and beyond. Innovation continues with Gantry Wireless with Ammunitiona new product category that will include 10 original designs as well as five new colors in celebration of their 10th anniversary.
Trend consists of two distinct elements: a cylindrical base, slender in proportion, supporting a smooth satin form above, organic in nature. A river rock that sits just above the surface of the water, the light shines on the environment below, creating a warm glow from a cool spring.
Eaves features a sleek little handle, a beautiful and portable way to light up the night. With a translucent shade, light diffuses both through the shade and down to the resting surface. A distinctive pattern creates a wavy effect, concentric circles spaced with regularity for a stylish yet approachable finish. This lamp carries echoes from the porches of Craftsman bungalows, the cornices of gleaming Victorians, and the gateway of Chinatown—all nods to the fabric of San Francisco where Gantri and Ammunition were founded.
With Pieryou can have it all. A task light, mood lighting and a statement piece – all in a playfully abstract support beam. Each iteration is meant to support the architecture of a life in motion, and as modern humans, we’re going to need some light to do that.
With the Gantri Wireless, 5 new colors enter the mix. A rich Erythrella green, a Manzanita red burgundy, bright and botanical lilac, sophisticated Magnolia and an electric yellow lichen are inspired by details drawn from the California landscape.
“Throughout human history, we’ve thought of ways to make light move with us, whether through a candle, a torch or a lantern. Then we’ve attached it to the wall. With Gantri Wireless, we’re returning light to its former state – something
that lives with you, moves with you and shapes how you experience a space in a more human way,” says Gantri founder Ian Yang.
Gantri Wireless is powered by Gantri Helia. The first iteration of the platform offers two different battery sizes, each capable of a wide range of lighting and performance options. Each slim enclosure houses a battery, drivers, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and connects to an LED array, capacitive touch interface, and charging dock. Each stainless steel base is designed to be discreet and intuitive, simply placing the lamp in the base to charge. It is not magnetized, it is intended to provide a similar experience as if you had just picked it up from any surface. This intuition of human behavior, along with the intentional feedback loops our bodies crave, is essential to the Gantri design ethos. As they mark ten years and look beyond, we’re excited to see what’s next.
