Jean Paul Gaultier unveils Duran Lantink’s SS26 campaign

Jean Paul Gaultier presents the Spring Summer 2026 campaign for INFERIORmarking by Duran Lantink first ready-to-wear for the House.

The campaign introduces a new chapter shaped by Lantink’s direction, where familiar codes take on a sharper, more direct form through image and attitude.

Photographers Inez and Vinoodh frame the range with an emphasis on silhouette and presence. Styling by Jody Barnes reinforces this approach by placing the clothes in direct conversation with the body. Leon Dame leads the cast, along with me Signe Michaelsson, Imaan Zishan, and Marte Mei Van Haastereach contributes a distinct energy to the campaign structure.

The visual language draws from the late 1980s, grounding the images in a period known for bold silhouettes and expressive identity. The campaign builds on this reference through controlled compositions that emphasize charm, character and a sense of play. Each frame holds attention to posture, gesture and interaction, allowing the collection to set its own pace.

Duran Lantink revisits Jean Paul Gaultier staples such as marinière stripes, tattoo mesh and trompe-l’oeil techniques. He reshapes these signatures through his own perspective, introducing changes in proportion and layers that emphasize movement and contrast. The garments act as both reference and reinterpretation, maintaining a clear connection to the Body while establishing a new direction.

The campaign also engages with ideas about gender and role-playing. Through styling and casting, she presents a fluid exchange between identities, where clothes support transformation rather than fixed definitions. This approach aligns with Lantink’s ongoing interest in deconstruction and re-composition, applied here in the context of Jean Paul Gaultier.

Jop Van Bennekom’s art direction supports the campaign’s clarity, while casting by Piergiorgio Del Moro and DM Casting assembles a lineup that reinforces its tone. Hair by Holli Smith, makeup by Thomas de Kluyver and nails by Lora De Sousa complete the visual lineup, with production by VLM Productions and music by Olf Van Elden setting the final mood.
