JW Anderson Spring Summer 2027 begins curated as Jonathan Andersonhis main creative tool. The collection brings process, people and craft into focus, building a wardrobe out of the people and objects that surround his creative world. Shot by Heikki Kaskithe lookbook brings together close friends and collaborators whose work spans writing, ceramics, acting, collecting and gardening.
Anderson continues to explore clothing that feels shaped by touch and use. Draped evening wear appears pinched in one go. Japanese denim jeans look repaired many times. Loose camisoles sit like they’ve slipped off the shoulder. Boxy utility jackets keep an instant attitude and look ready to wear.
The pleated pant and the twist jean appear in fresh constructions, while the long silhouettes give several looks a strong graphic weight. Donegal wool is made into deep green sweaters decorated with wildflowers and ferns, adding a playful touch to durable knits. Anderson often turns function into play, and the Squirrel Clutch, paired with crocheted nuts, pushes that idea into object form.
Muted earth tones pervade the collection, alongside brighter moments such as a vibrant orange harem knit. The knitted House is inspired by a traditional Irish cottage. The Squirrel Knit pattern draws from a Scottish Fair Isle knitting pattern from Sanquhar. Johnstons of Elgin collaborate on a striking coat and scarf in bright red and blue, bringing Scottish wool into the material language of the season.
Workwear also gives structure to accessories. The new tote, tote and hobo bags use functional pockets that wrap around their forms. Their stripes are derived from rugby shirt colors such as pale pink, green and blue.
The seasonal offer also carries over to home and garden items. Handmade Mackintosh stools sit next to vintage linens dyed with natural dyes and repurposed into cushions. Wedgwood forms mugs inspired by ancient Etruscan pottery. Irish linen tea towels have the words WOW, FAB and CHIC on them. A specially cast bell from the John Taylor Bell Foundry rings as the foundry’s first sleigh in more than 100 years, made with an archival mold. JW Anderson also presents hampers with Eddie Glew, handcrafted from British willow and leather. Wind umbrellas by Cerith Wyn Evans and JW Anderson x Sunbeam Jackie in vintage fabrics further expand the world of the collection.
The cast includes renowned art collector Ivor Braka, Japanese ceramist Akiko Hirai, actor and model Dree Hemingway and author and academic Dr James Fox, all making their first appearances for the brand. Spring Summer 2027 transforms clothes, objects and people into a curated study of construction, where clothes naturally sit among tools, fabrics, household pieces and creative lives.
