Lady Gaga and Doechii present the music video for “Airport Runway,” their first collaboration, created for the upcoming film The Devil Wears Prada 2. The track was first seen in the film’s trailer and now arrives with a full directed visual Paris Goebel. The video aligns with the setting of the film, capturing a behind-the-scenes moment as the models prepare for the catwalk, shaping a production based on clothes, movement and performance.
The video follows a clear structure driven by fashion and choreography. Gaga and Doechii move through a series of looks, each framed as part of a larger visual progression. The style introduces a number of custom pieces, including a Miss Claire Sullivan dress, a SIXTH double suit, Bad Binch Tong Tong raft, Robert Woon creations and a Guarav Gupta suit. Footwear plays a central role, with both artists wearing black Opera Platforms by Tom Solowhile Gaga appears in custom red crocodile Opera heels in another row. The wardrobe changes rapidly, creating a constant change in silhouette and surface, supported by a troupe of dancers.
Goebel’s choreography is based on the gestures of the catwalk, turning the fashion show into a performance. The final series brings both artists to the catwalk, where the visual concept comes to an end. The piece itself supports this direction. “Runway” functions as a high-energy song based on references to fashion culture, performance and presence.
The collaboration between Gaga and Doechii is based on an existing sense of mutual respect. In an interview with British VogueGaga praised Doechii’s writing, calling her an artist whose visual and lyrical approach stand out. He noted the strength and vulnerability in Doechii’s work, along with her ability to combine confidence with emotional clarity. Doechii has also expressed admiration for Gaga, citing her as an influence. This exchange became visible when Doechii presented Gaga with the Innovator Award 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
The release of “Runway” arrives ahead of The Devil Wears Prada 2, which continues the story of the original film. The sequel brings back its core cast, incl Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Bluntand Stanley Tucci. Streep returns as Miranda Priestlynow tackling the decline of print media and changing industry conditions in the fictional magazine Runway.
