Laufey and Lexus enter it Blue on Green RZ Editiona personalized electric vehicle created in collaboration. The project ties directly into Laufey’s new song “Blue on Green,” in which she made her live debut Drawing during a global event presented with Lexus. Her version is based on Miles Davisoriginal composition and adds new lyrics to mark his centenary in 2026.
The vehicle acts as a natural extension of the track. He translates the atmosphere of the music into form, drawing from Laufey’s performance while referencing Miles Davis and his trumpet. The collaboration connects music and design into a single concept shaped through performance, sound and hardware choices.
Laufey described the process as shaping the emotional tone of Davis’ work on the vehicle’s design direction. Erin Davis she connected the work to her father’s legacy, noting how his music continues to provoke interpretation across disciplines. Lexus positioned the collaboration as part of its ongoing work on design, culture and technology, with Lexus Chief Marketing Officer Sarah Lara emphasizing the role of artistic perspective in shaping new ideas within electrified design.
The revelation was made during 100 Milesa live event streamed on Twitch. Laufey performed her lyrical version of “Blue In Green” as part of the program, which honored Miles Davis’ centennial.

The design reflects the tone of the composition through a custom exterior that shifts between deep blue and green as the light moves across the surface. Brass accents appear on the brake calipers and interior elements, harkening back to Miles Davis and his organ. Inside the cabin, burgundy velvet and distressed leather recall the material language of a classic instrument case. Laufey’s presence is seen throughout the vehicle, from a custom illuminated front badge with her signature “L” to lyrics from the version of the song placed on the trunk.
When the vehicle turns on, it plays the opening notes of “Blue In Green” by Miles Davis. This detail connects the interaction with the music, extending the concept beyond the visual design to a sensory moment.

“Blue In Green” first appeared on Miles Davis’ 1959 album Type Blue and remains a defining work within jazz. Laufey’s version introduces new lyrics while maintaining the structure of the original composition. Released as an Amazon Music Original, the track is streaming exclusively on the platform. The partnership is part of the broader Miles Davis Centennial initiatives, led by the Miles Davis Estate and Reservoir. The 100 Miles event remains available to watch on Twitch, while more details on Lexus’ electrified lineup can be found via the brand’s official channels.
