adidas has introduced KODECHAOS Messia limited edition golf shoe that the brand created for Lionel Messi as Argentina begin their title defense at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The release marks the first Messi-inspired golf shoe from adidas and connects his footballing history with adidas Golf technology.
The launch arrived as Argentina opened Group J against Algeria at the Kansas City Stadium. Argentina won 3-0, with Messi scoring in the 17th, 60th and 76th minutes. His hat-trick took his tournament tally to 16 goals, equaling Miroslav Klose’s record goalscorer. The match also gave Messi his 200th appearance for Argentina and made him the first player to play in six editions of the tournament.
THE CODE Messi was drawn by F50.6 TUNIT”The Last Tangoadidas combined a microfiber leather upper with the CODECHAOS outsole, creating a direct link between Messi’s football boots and the brand’s golf range. The shoe uses an AXISLOCK stabilizer through the heel and midfoot to support golfers during the swing. while full-length BOOST cushioning supports all-round comfort.
The color scheme draws from Argentina’s national colors to ivory, gold and sky blue. adidas placed the ‘Messi’ logo on the tongue and lining of the sock, giving the footballer’s identity a visible presence throughout the design. Each pair comes in upgraded packaging with ‘Messi’ and CODECHAOS logos.
Jeff Lienhart, General Manager of Golf at adidas, explained that the company wanted to mark the tournament through a project that brought together its golf and soccer teams. Messi gave both sections a clear common reference, allowing the designers to translate a familiar football boot into golf form. The result maintains key visual links to the F50 while adding features that address traction, stability and shock absorption along the way.
adidas also built the campaign around Silvies Valley Ranch in Eastern Oregon. The images show the shoes of the ranch’s baby goats, which belong to its sustainable goat farm. The ranch trains goats to carry equipment around two golf courses, giving the campaign a playful setting and a direct connection to the game.
The CODECHAOS Messi release joins the FIFA World Cup 2026 schedule, Argentina colors and golf mechanics in a limited edition product. It gives fans a shoe design associated with Messi’s record opening performance while maintaining the functional elements golfers have come to expect from the CODECHAOS line.
