MM6 Maison Margiela and Solomon return with the XT-4 Mulereimagining Salomon’s trail-running icon for warmer conditions and everyday use. The design removes the heel from the XT-4 OG and transforms the technical sneaker into a slip-on model, while retaining the original’s defining construction elements.
The XT-4 Mule comes in two colorways: Vanilla Ice and Black. The lighter version uses a pale base with measured touches of green and blue, giving the layered upper a distinct seasonal identity. The darker option keeps the upper, frame and sole in a near-black range, with subtle tonal changes that reveal the construction.
Salomon’s Agile Chassis System supports the foot and gives the mule stability despite its open construction. An EnergyCell midsole provides cushioning underfoot, and the Mud Contagrip outsole uses chevron lugs to maintain traction on a variety of surfaces. These components connect the new model to the paths of the XT-4 and give the open shape a technical basis.
The upper combines synthetic panels with textile mesh to support airflow and normal wear. Anti-debris construction helps limit the entry of dust and small particles around the foot. Salomon’s Quicklace system runs across the upper and allows the wearer to adjust the fit with one pull.
MM6 and Salomon keep the branding integrated into the construction. The MM6’s numerical signature appears next to the Salomon logo on the side, placing both identities within the shoe’s panel system. Markings follow the functional lines of the upper and allow shape, materials and technical elements to guide the design.
The XT-4 Mule continues a collaboration that debuted during the MM6 Maison Margiela Fall Winter 2022 show. Since then, the partners have developed footwear and apparel that connect technical gear with everyday wear. For Spring Summer 2026, they extend this approach through a modular selection of footwear and accessories that support movement and repeated use.
