Netflix has confirmed it Lupine Part 4 will premiere on October 23, bringing Omar Sy back as Assane Diop. Production on the new episodes began in May, continuing the story of the master thief whose schemes have captivated viewers in France and across international markets.

Sy returns to the lead role after three parts shaped by elaborate heists, family conflicts and carefully planned escapes. The actor continues to find pleasure in playing Assane and exploring the possibilities of the show. “I often say that lupine is a great game” Sy told Netflix. “I find great joy in it every time.”

Part 3 pushed Assane through several major events before putting him in prison. He stole the Black Pearl, won the support of the French public and staged his own death. He also saved the life of his estranged mother while trying to protect those closest to him.

Assane finally came to the conclusion that his wife, son, mother and best friend could only live safely if he was removed from their lives. He turned himself in to the police and took responsibility for his actions. The latest episode left him behind bars with a full collection of Arsene Lupine books in his cell.

Part 4 will pick up after that arrest, though Netflix hasn’t revealed how long Assane will remain imprisoned or what circumstances will bring him back into action. His history of escapes, disguises and elaborate schemes suggests that prison may become another problem for him to solve.

The series is inspired by Arsène Lupin, the fictional gentleman thief created by the French author Maurice Leblanc. It places these literary references in a contemporary story centered on Assane, who uses intelligence, deception, and performance to outwit his opponents.

Paris continues to play an important role in the series, providing locations for his heists, pursuits, and personal conflicts. The plot alternates regularly between Assane’s criminal schemes and his efforts to protect his family, creating tension between his public reputation and his private responsibilities.

Lupine has become one of Netflix’s most successful non-English productions. Its first three parts currently rank third, sixth and tenth on the platform’s all-time ranking for non-English series.

Gaumont produces the series in collaboration with Carrousel Studios. The teams behind the production have taken extra time to develop Part 4 and raise their ambitions for the new episodes. They aim to introduce further surprises while maintaining the sense of enjoyment that has driven the series since its inception.

George Kay created Lupine in collaboration with Francois lie down. Marie Roussin, Florent Meyer and Tigran Rozin also contribute to the series. Omar Sy and Louis Leterier serve as showrunners for the new chapter.

The October premiere will return Assane to Netflix three years after Part 3 left him in custody. The new episodes will reveal how he reacts to being imprisoned and whether he can protect his family while dealing with the consequences of his final decision.
