Prime Video shared the first images from Curry, Mike Flanaganof its upcoming television adaptation Stephen Kinghis debut novel. The eight-episode series brings the story to television for the first time and will premiere exclusively on Prime Video this fall in more than 240 countries and territories.

Summer Howell is playing Carrie Whitea high school student who has spent most of her life in her family home with her fiercely protective mother, Margaret. Samantha Slogan of Pete she takes on the role of Margaret, whose strict presence has kept Carrie isolated from the lives and experiences of other teenagers.
Carrie’s circumstances change after her father’s sudden death. He enters public high school and faces an unforgiving social environment shaped by peer pressure, occasional cruelty, and constant online attention. A viral bullying scandal spreads through her community, while social media heightens the pressure surrounding her teenage years. At the same time, Carrie discovers mysterious telekinetic powers that develop alongside her changing identity.
Flanagan’s adaptation follows the everyday decisions that lead to a disastrous night. The story examines kindness, cruelty, and the effect each choice has on Carrie and the people around her. It also asks whether these powers create a hero, a monster, or someone much harder to define.
Howell secured the title role after an extensive search that included readings from more than 1,000 actors. Leads a set with entries Siena Agudong of Resident Evil as Sue Snell and Alison Thornton of Fire Country as Chris Hargensen.
Joel Oulette from My life with the Walter Boys takes on the role of Tommy Ross. Josie Tota from The Buccaneers plays Tina, while Arthur Cody from Beetlejuice Beetlejuice he plays Billy. Thalia Dudek from The Running Man joins the cast as Emaline.
Amber Middle Dogs of Smooth plays Miss Desjardin, and Matthew Lillard from The man of tomorrow takes on the role of Principal Grayle. The ensemble depicts the students, teachers, and family members whose daily choices shape Carrie’s experiences at home and at school.
Flanagan writes and executive produces Carrie and serves as showrunner. He also directs four of the series’ eight episodes. His previous television credits include; The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Liturgy and The Fall of the House of Usher. Stephen King is an executive producer and Amazon MGM Studios is producing the series.
Carrie arrived in 1974 as King’s debut novel and launched his literary career. His books have since sold over 350 million copies. The novel remained on the New York Times Best Seller list for 14 weeks and reached readers in more than 35 languages.
Brian De Palma directed the 1976 film adaptation, which earned Oscar nominations and helped establish Carrie as a major cultural title. The film marks its 50th anniversary this year as Prime Video prepares to present King’s story through its first TV series.
