It’s hard to deny that Austin is booming. The once sleepy capital of the state of Texas – known for its alternative music and art scene – has blossomed into a major tech hub. challenging the hegemony of San Francisco. With that, the mid-sized city has seen countless skyscrapers rise in its downtown and in the revitalized Rainey Street Historic District. skirts the edge of the Colorado River (Lady Bird Lake).
One such site is the all-in-one Paseo luxury residential tower, developed by LV Collective. At 48 stories tall, the structure frames some of the city’s best outdoor views and contains a full suite of indoor amenities that could keep residents engaged all day and night. These include an expertly appointed club-style co-working space. 12th floor pool with adjacent bar/Mediterranean restaurant. and a fitness program that incorporates a yoga studio in the cloud.
Naturally, the guests of the 56-year-old Rust Rainey apartment hotel, integrated into four strategically placed floors, also has full access to all of them. Fully furnished studios up to three bedrooms offer flexible accommodation. Each is equipped with a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer and innovative real estate branding Method Co Bonavita indoor coffee makers/Capresso grinders. The experiential qualities of being at home and away for work or pleasure have completely blurred. Of course, the adaptability of these distinctly designed residences allows its occupants to choose one or the other for as long as they need. Similar ROOST locations are located in Midtown Manhattan, Detroit, Cleveland, Tampa, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
“ROOST Rainey marks an exciting chapter in our continued national expansion, and we couldn’t imagine a better city for our first Texas property,” said Randall Cook, Method Co. Co-Founder and CEO. With that in mind, we’re excited to welcome travelers to a hotel experience that embodies the spirit and energy of Austin.”
To successfully achieve this porous design strategy, Cook and his team worked closely with sustainable interiors brand ZZ Driggs. The partners, including LV Collective, infused the public spaces with layered textures, organic materials and warm tones that subtly mark the history of the surrounding area. Alex Bodishbaugh’s custom artwork pulls it all together.
The short-stay residences—no two alike—follow this approach with handcrafted details, vintage rugs and natural finishes that echo Austin’s architectural character and the neighborhood’s Mexican-American heritage. Other elements include handmade and colored tiles. Velvet and leather upholstery. white oak cabinetry, matte gray counters. and statement pendant lights. All of this was brought together in a tight curation. What does not prevail and instead balances intimacy (human contact) with architectural rigor.
