Maximum presents a Spring 2026 collection created with his fortune DJ Screwfocusing on one of the most important figures in Houston hip hop. The release ties directly into Screw’s legacy, drawing on his impact on music and the culture that formed around his work.

Born Robert Earl Davis Jr. in 1971, DJ Screw grew up on the south side of Houston. He taught himself to DJ at the age of 12 using his mother’s blues records. By 1990, he began shaping his own mixes, working with analog equipment to create a distinct sound. He developed the technique of chopped and screwed by running two copies of the same record at the same time, slowing down the tempo while cutting and repeating vocal parts. He recorded these sessions on a four-track tape recorder, which allowed for further manipulation and resulted in a slow, hypnotic effect that defined his style.
As demand for his tapes grew, DJ Screw invited local rappers to record over his mixes. This group formed Screwed Up Click, a collective that shaped Houston rap during the 1990s. Along with these collaborations, he released four studio albums during the decade, including 3 ‘N The Mornin’ Parts One and Two, while continuing to distribute his tapes through a growing local network.
DJ Screw died in November 2000 aged 29. His work continues to influence artists throughout hip hop and experimental electronic music. His technique remains a benchmark for producers dealing with rhythm, vocal structure and analog processes.
Supreme is building this collection around that legacy, working directly with his estate. The line-up includes a soccer jersey, a hoodie, a sweatshirt, a t-shirt, a 5-panel and a blouse. Each track draws from DJ Screw’s presence and the visual language associated with his work and community.
The collection launches on April 2nd, with availability in Asia from April 4th.
