Takashi Murakami is expanding his independent footwear brand Ohana Take with the Full-Bloom Multicolor Collection II, which introduces the signature silhouette in two new colorways. The latest release comes in Turquoise/Green and Blue/Black, translating the artist’s recognizable floral motif into a multi-colored layered design inspired by his floral plush cushions.

The second Full-Bloom Multicolor collection continues Ohana Hatake’s focus on footwear that moves between home comfort and everyday street use. Murakami launched the label around a modern interpretation of the slippers introduced to Japan during the Meiji era, connecting that history with the current Japanese street aesthetic. The updated model keeps the original concept intact while improving its structure and implementation.

Ohana Hatake constructs the new silhouette from lightweight EVA foam designed to feel softer while maintaining durability. A custom strap and revised toe shape improve comfort, while the outsole introduces a traction-focused design for greater stability. The water-friendly material makes the shoes easy to clean, supporting indoor, city street, vacation and hot weather use.

Murakami’s floral pattern defines the upper, with multiple colors arranged on the petals and central face. The Turquoise/Green version uses a bright aqua base with vibrant accents, while the Blue/Black version brings a darker base to the same graphic form. Both options retain the playfulness associated with Murakami’s art while giving the shoes a distinct visual identity.

The accompanying campaign draws on spring flowers and places the shoes in a fresh floral setting. This presentation connects the product directly to the physical references behind Murakami’s recurring images, while the saturated palette keeps the focus on the footwear. The styling supports the seasonal nature of the collection without distracting from the shoe’s sculptural form.

Ohana Hatake sits between art merchandise, streetwear and functional footwear. Murakami approaches the label as its own independent project, giving familiar visual codes a practical form designed for regular use. The Full-Bloom Multicolor Collection II develops this direction through technical adaptations and new color combinations, showing how the flower can move from canvas, sculpture and plush to a wearable product.

The collection also reflects a wider shift towards molded footwear designed for versatility in different environments. Ohana Hatake gives this category a highly recognizable identity through Murakami’s iconography, using the flower as both structure and decoration. The result remains closely connected to his artistic practice while functioning as an independent shoe design.

The Full-Bloom Multicolor Collection II is released in Turquoise/Green and Blue/Black on June 10, 2026 at 9am. PST via the Ohana Hatake website. Each pair retails for $130.
