adidas enter it Samba Mule “Fur-Lined”, a winter version of the familiar low-profile football boot aimed at cooler conditions. The new model maintains the narrow shape of the original indoor football silhouette, while changing its structure, materials and purpose for fall wear.
The design transforms the Samba into a backless lifestyle shoe with a casual, slipper-like character. adidas removes the closed heel and opens up the rear, creating a shape that wearers can quickly step into. This construction takes the sneaker away from its traditional form and gives the Mule a more casual role in the brand’s footwear lineup.
Soft textured suede forms the upper and gives the shoe a heavier look than the standard warm weather version. The hardware supports the seasonal direction while maintaining the clean profile that defines Samba. The panels follow the familiar lines of the original design, allowing the revised model to remain recognizable despite the open heel and thicker interior.
A thick faux fur lining introduces the main cold weather update. The lining covers the inner collar and extends beyond the open heel, which makes the insulation layer visible from the outside. This detail enhances the slipper-like quality and brings extra texture to the silhouette. It also gives the Mule a fuller shape around the foot. adidas adds another point of difference through a double layer lace system. Traditional flat laces sit below thicker rope laces that refer to outdoor footwear. The two sets cross the midfoot together and create a more substantial arrangement throughout the suede upper.
Contrasting three stripes run down the side panels and retain one of the silhouette’s most recognizable features. Contrast stitching defines the edges of the panel and makes the construction more legible than the earth-tone suede. A gold foil logo appears on the side and adds a polished accent to the otherwise rugged material combination.
