Tom Brown presented the Spring 2027 menswear collection at Palazzo Serbelloni in Milanon June 22, returning to Italy for the first time since 2008. Inside the palazzo, 400 flower pots formed Thom’s garden in a grid that echoed the symmetry of the building’s neoclassical arcades. The set gave the show a visual order, while the collection carried the idea of the garden into tailoring, colour, embroidery, applique and fabric.

Browne approached the season through American prep and traditional menswear, then opened it up for spring. Classic tailoring appeared in glass, technical nylon, open-weave cotton suiting, mesh pique wool, jacketed cashmere and madre plaid. Sleeveless collared coats, short-sleeved sports coats and jackets came unlined or semi-lined, giving the familiar overalls a warmer-weather construction. The designer’s usual grey, white, red and navy were given yellow, green, pink and sky blue, adding a brighter range to his graphic language.
The garden became cleaner in clothes. Embroidered bees clambered over honeycomb, frogs hopped over lilies and appliqués of crickets and ants glowed alongside dragonfly wings and honey comb embroidery. Browne also used camouflage with radial embroidery, bouillon thread work, hand painted checks and floating threads with a fun mix, intarsia and patchwork embroidery. Distressed nods appeared throughout the collection, indicating the seasonal cycles and life these garments will see.
Browne kept the decor tied to the codes of the house. Self-rolling, self-sleeves, shell construction, cricket cotton and red, white and blue tape gave the collection its familiar structure. Refined tailoring and fabric manipulation developed these codes for 2027, while large brimmed boater hats trimmed in grosgrain ribbon, translucent beekeeper plaid veils and silk striped ties extended the garden theme through accessories.
Lighter layers added another part of the season’s construction. The poplin shirt comes with contrast detachable collar and cuffs, layered with cotton knits. Outerwear included cordura trench coats, nylon funnel neck parkas, shell car coats and tech jackets. Polished gray leather shaped a structured biker jacket, while a patent leather scout jacket appeared with a coordinating skirt.
For the finale, Browne became white. The bride appeared in sharp cotton swiss dot seam with grosgrain edged border, draped in a hand beaded tulle veil with pearls. The look closed the collection with a ritual image of renewal, returning the show to its spring premises. Through 400 pots, lighter seams, garden details and American preparation codes, Thom Browne’s Spring 2027 menswear collection brought its core identity back to Italy with new growth.
