an impressive landscape shaped by light wooden structures

Trenchs Studio designs an impressive shelter for WeCamp hidden among the pines of a dehesa in Cádiz, south Spain. Working as a concept custodian alongside TEMATIC Arquitectura and landscape designer Valentina Greselin, the Barcelona-based design studio shapes the light timber structures, earth tones and a pool deck among the trees, letting the Andalusian forest set the pace for this contemporary glamping experience.

The project reinterprets camping as an exercise in containment rather than spectacle, elevating the traditional camping experience through design, comfort and a more conscious relationship with the landscape. The glamping development keeps the tent density deliberately low, letting the vegetation and open terrain absorb the built program rather than compete with it. The result is a place where time seems to move at a different pace, governed more by the shift of light through the trees than by any architectural gesture.

the common areas dissolve into the surrounding pine forest

For this project, Trenchs Studio acted as the custodian of the concept, working with TEMATIC Arquitectura and landscape designer Valentina Greselin to define and consolidate the spatial identity of the WeCamp site. Trenchs Studio’s design scheme extended to all public areas, including reception, restaurant and pool, as well as the different tent typologies, overseeing every interior design decision and furniture specification to ensure a cohesive guest experience from arrival to departure. The common areas are conceived as open, semi-outdoor structures where the architecture and interior decoration dissolve into the surrounding pine trees.

Light construction, natural materials and a straight-from-the-site palette of light woods, earth tones and soft greens create relaxing, welcoming atmospheres built for sharing, resting and observing the forest. The exterior spaces are treated as extensions of the interior spaces. Wooden pergolas filter sunlight and blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, while the reception and restaurant volumes unfold between the pine trunks, their dark green and gray tones purposefully tying against the changing daylight and natural colors already present in the space. The pool area is organized as a sequence of connected basins joined by a single large deck that houses sunbathing areas, turning the water itself into another clearing in the forest.

The tents incorporate built-in solutions and open forest views

Inside the glamping tents, Trenchs Studio balances comfort with simplicity through a functional, spare interior layout where built-in solutions enhance the sense of refuge. Large openings and light enclosures keep the landscape constantly present, softening the line between interior and exterior. The color continuity with the common areas ties the scenes back to their surroundings, while a composition of birch plywood panels, arranged like a large-scale Mondrian and incorporating the brand’s color, adds identity and character to each unit.

Overall, this Cádiz glamping project reflects WeCamp’s philosophy of a more considered way of camping, focusing on the quality of the experience rather than its scale. Through its role as custodian and lead interior designer, Trenchs Studio has ensured a global coherence between disciplines, with architecture, interior design and landscape working in dialogue rather than competition, creating an impressive sanctuary that does not impose itself on the dehesa, but adapts to it, offering visitors a quiet, contemporary way of returning to nature.
